YAAMNY's Educational Programs Committee, in collaboration with the Public Service & Social Justice Committee, is seeking volunteers to work with middle school students in an after-school program at the acclaimed School of the Future on college preparedness and the formulation of college action plans under the auspices of Junior Achievement of New York. Yale alumni volunteers will work with students on crafting a personalized strategy for educational success and map a path towards higher education. This is an exceptional opportunity to learn about a coveted public school while working with fellow Yale alumni to share insights, resources, and ideas about academic success and the realization of concrete educational goals. Volunteers are expected to arrive at School of the Future at 4:30 p.m. sharp for a two hour volunteer commitment. Though this is an early start time on a week day, many employers may be amenable to supporting your one-time participation in a meaningful, civic-minded project on a Friday with advance notice.
